Family of the Father of Paintball, Bob Gurnsey, is Auctioning and/or Raffling Select items of Historic Memorabilia to help pay for medical expenses and Bob's long battle with leukemia.

Paintball, like all sports, began with a game between friends. Bob Gurnsey created an industry from the simple beginnings of that game.

The Gurnsey family is soon to be auctioning off select items of paintball memorabilia and historic collectables. The starting date of the auction to be announced soon. Some items will be available for direct sale on this website.

What makes GREAT collectibles? Imagine if someone had the FIRST ski ever made in the world? How about the FIRST baseball bat ever used for a sandlot game or a drawing of the FIRST baseball field ever designed, showing bases, pitchers and catchers mounds, etc. Each and every one of the items Bob has will receive a certificate of authenticity signed by him with a brief history, documented dates and provenances.

The paintball industry began in kitchen, Bob’s. UPS came to Bob’s house to pick up the first guns sold for the purpose of paintball, and from THERE, history was made! In fact, most people were convinced “Paintball” was a dream until Bob wrote an advertisement, illustrated by a friend, for Shotgun News. That ad activated the Industry and would prove the potential that Bob had always believed was there. That ad has been framed in Bob’s home for many years and will be included in this auction. Many of the original magazines with articles written to initiate paintball are also available.

The original 4’ by 8’ Splat Board that is a work of art! The SPLATS are all oil-based, indelible paint. The board hung in Bob’s office throughout his paintball career and has been on display at one of his other companies since.

Splatmaster guns with UNIQUE serial numbers will be sold along with original prototype guns and rare side-cocked Splatmasters. In addition, various Splatmaster models in different stages of production will be made available. All of these will be signed by the father of the industry, Bob Gurnsey.

Additional items include: Rapides, GZ (the world’s first CARBON gun in 1990 serial numbers), autographed “Survival Game” books, original videos, audio commercial takes.
